Settings
A top-up buys credits at the same price as a purchase in the console, and the console shows how many requests each amount buys. Change the settings at any time while auto top-up is on: Edit, then Save.
Turning it on
The first time, the console sends you to Stripe to add a card. If your balance is already below the threshold, Stripe takes the first top-up in the same step; otherwise it only saves the card. When you come back, auto top-up is on. Once a card is saved, turning it on or saving new settings takes effect at once. Turning it on, or saving new settings, charges straight away when your balance is already below the threshold. The console says so above the button before you confirm. When your card is charged
The threshold watches your purchased balance, the dollar balance shown on the Billing page. The free monthly allowance does not count toward it. Free requests are used first, so while some are left your purchased balance does not go down and nothing is charged. Every charge is an invoice. An automatic top-up appears in the console’s invoice list, like any purchase. The monthly limit counts whole top-ups. A top-up is charged only if all of it fits under what is left of the limit. Once the next one would go over, nothing more is charged until the limit resets; the console shows how much has been charged this month and when the limit resets, on the same day as the free allowance. If the balance and the allowance both run out before then, requests return402, as described in Credits.
