Search engine A keenable search engine built into SearXNG (shortcut !keen) — an operator flips it on in settings.yml. View the change on GitHub Keenable ships as a core SearXNG engine (searx/engines/keenable.py). Like every newly added engine it is registered disabled by default, per SearXNG convention, so the instance operator enables it explicitly. SearXNG is a rolling release — the engine lands in the next master docker build.

Install

No separate install

Keenable ships as a built-in search engine in SearXNG (merged upstream) — there is no separate package to install.

Enable it in settings.yml

Upstream registers the engine as disabled: true, inactive: true (the convention for a new engine), so the operator turns it on:
Restart the instance, then use the !keen bang or select Keenable in the engine list.
Add api_key to the engine settings to authenticate — this removes the hourly request cap. Leave it out and calls run on the shared public tier at lower rate limits; on a multi-user instance that pool is shared across everyone behind the instance’s egress address.
